Storytelling is not just about writing – it’s about collaborating, analysing and problem-solving. You can find your passions and your voice in stories, especially when they are your own.
What is InkStorm Storytelling?
InkStorm Storytelling is a social enterprise based in Stockton-on-tees. we work with schools, organisations and the local community, to deliver tailored, high-quality storytelling courses, workshops and classes to young people in Teesside.
We inspire future writers, readers, actors, directors, artists – anyone with a love for stories, TV and film, or those who wish to create something new.
Our sessions implement various methods to spark creativity, from arts and crafts to high-energy games and shadow puppet performances.
Our goal is to equip young people with new skills and knowledge not only in literature but related industries such as animation and podcasting. We want to build young people’s confidence and for them to utilise storytelling as a tool for well-being, and of course – for them to have fun and find themselves, by getting lost in their own stories.
We are INCLUSIVE
We pride ourselves on inclusion meaning our workshops and lessons are suitable for all types of learners and personalities. Children with dyslexia, neurodivergence or behavioural issues are welcome.
We are INTERACTIVE
Storytelling is not solely about sitting still and scribbling in a notebook. It can be incredibly fun and freeing. It can help you find your voice. it can help you understand the world and the things around you. Storytelling is about thinking outside the box, sharing ideas, experiencing life and sharing something crafted with care. Our workshops and online classes are great for kids who like to get up and go. We don’t keep still. We think! We move! We play!
We are INSPIRING
Your child’s stories matter. There is no right or wrong in InkStorm storytelling, only expression and exploration. With the guidance of experienced tutors, our participants learn the key elements of stories, but above all else, they will be inspired to look beyond the ordinary and hone their ideas in the best way possible.
